Last weekend I moved my desk from one side of the corner to the other side of the corner. Not a huge move obviously, but it gave me a new view. Windows look out both sides of the house. The point of moving the desk in a new direction is because I can see more of the driveway. It's suppose to snow tomorrow night. It probably won't amount to much, but I'm ready for more. Seeing the driveway let's me watch the kids sled down the hill, the outside dog's doghouse, and the thermometer nailed to the tree.
As I sat down and came up with this post, I realize there are certain things that I need at my desk. Pens and scratch paper...I'm almost insane about writing down my word count. Yes, I have a nifty button I can click on at any time that gives me the current count, but I like seeing it on paper and watching it grow.
My old pair of moccassins have to be under the desk. You never know if I have to slip on something and run outside in an emergency. A bear could come, a trespasser might walk up the driveway, one of the kids could break a bone sliding down the hill. (hey, it's happened before, lol)
A bottle of lotion sits to the right of the computer. I love lotion.
My fleece throw is folded on the back of my chair. Winters are cold here and I like to be warm.
Do you like your desk a certain way? What do you like within reach while you are writing or surfing the web?

HI Debra!
Love the imagery of your surroundings! And I'm digging the new features on your site/blog!
I'd just love to have an office. My desk is crammed between my side of the bed and a wall. *sigh* It's a small space, but oneof the safest in the house. Anywhere else and my kiddos would destroy it! LOL I have to have my desk neat and tidy. I don't function well with clutter.
I'm jealous of your snow. It doesn't snow here in the valley. Maybe a little rain and lots of fog. Boring!
Congrats on your releases and I hope your word count soars!
Hi Sarah!
Oh boy, would I love an office. I'm at the end of the family room, so it is a little space I have to share. lol
We ended up only getting a few snow flakes mixed with rain. *sniff* Soon though and I'll be able to post pictures.
Thanks for the congrats and encouragement. I hope everything is going great for you!
