This is a pretty exciting Tuesday for all my relatives. My nephew, BW, is setting his feet back in the United State's soil after being in Iraq serving in the Army. Yay! I know he is super excited, because the last time he came back on leave, he got married, went on his honeymoon for a couple days, and left for the war. =) With tomorrow being Veteran's Day...I want to say thank you to BW and everyone who has or is serving our country.
I had a blast this weekend. Storms hit Friday night, and by Saturday the wind whipped the leaves off the tree's, flooded the creek, and created the best setup for a weekend of fun. Yes, I'm talking about riding the Quad (4wheeler) through water and mud. I don't think there was a spot on me that wasn't speckled in brown and dripping. With all the kids on their own motorcycles, and everyone egging each other on, the competition to make the biggest splash, most mud, and the wildest cookie is pretty fierce.
Despite all the playing I did, I always buckled down and got some writing done. I promoted my books, and I organized my desk.
Do you ever notice as the weather cools off and it starts getting darker earlier that the urge to bake hits you hard? Oh gosh! This is not good for me. lol Combine that with the holidays coming, I have been pulling out recipes and making a list of things to buy to make all these scrumptious treats. I'm going to need some serious willpower to make it through the winter, I just know it.
The latest "new" thing I have seen at the grocery store is a huge selection of chips. I'm talking chocolate chips, but there are not just chocolate anymore. You've got cinnamon chips, Heath candy bar chips, peppermint chips, almond chips, and many more. Lucky me gets to go shopping today. Guess what's on the list? lol
