Tuesday Catchup

Achoo...

Nope I'm not sick. I cleaned the dust out of my house. All you writers know how it is when you spend all your free time writing, promoting, blogs, interviews, socializing...the housework gets ignored. This weekend I couldn't ignore it any longer. The dog hair needed picked up, dust needed to be shoved out the door, and I needed to find out if we really did have wood floors. We do, btw! One of the big things I wanted to get done is to totally clean out under the stairs. That is one of my stuff-it-and-ignore-it places. I can actually get coats and outdoor shoes (read farm shoes) in there now. That's besides all the sleeping bags, suitcases, and empty shoe boxes I keep for no reason than someday I will use them. I will!

Two more days until my 2nd birthday! Click to find out why I have 2 official birthdays

Boy, that baking bug sure hit hard at our house. Good thing the holidays are coming up and I have an excuse to make all the delicious treats I've been making. I just need to figure out how to save these treats for the holidays. And, no putting them in the freezer doesn't work when you have four teenagers and a husband. Not even when you mark the container as "liver." I swear they are all snoops! Nothing is sacred in this house. lol

This week you can help me out by suggesting what I should do with empty shoe boxes. What do you use them for? Also, if you've discovered a way to hide treats in the house...please, share!

This weeks goodie is what we call "messy things." Seriously, I don't know what they are really called. I lost the recipe years ago when the kids were little, so that's what we call them. The kids thought getting powdered sugar on your fingers was messy, hence the name. ;-)

Messy things

4 cups of chex cereal ~ Put them in a gallon ziplock baggy
Melt 1 cup of chocolate chips in the microwave

Pour Chocolate over cereal in bag. Zip it closed and shake until completely covered.

Open the bag, and add 1 cup of powdered sugar. Shake really good until all the chex cereal pieces are nice and white.

Spread out on a cookie sheet to cool and set up a little (ok, wait five minute...I dare you!)and then store in a clean ziplock baggy/or sealed container.
