Tuesday Catchup

This last week was the longest week. Surprised? Usually, I am talking about how the week flew by and I can't believe it is December. Not this last week though!

I'm catching up on things. We put the tree up and the kids decorated it. I've made a gift list that I plan on working on this week. Some things the kids have asked for amazed me. I mean really, what teenaged boy asks for a plastic ruler? Supposedly, the budding artist does not like the expensive metal ruler set that I bought last year because the metal shaves down the lead in the mechanical pencils. Who knew! Will I wrap up the 39 cent plastic ruler? You better believe it! My daughter wants colored knee socks. Who's children are these? Of course, they have normal things on their list too thank goodness, or I'd start to worry about them. I always enjoy reading what they ask for, and it helps since I usually leave shopping until the last week.

The whole making a list for your parents got me to thinking about my childhood and the things I asked Santa for Christmas. A lot of years I went through a radio phase. I needed one for my bike handlebars, one to hang in the shower, one that played 8 tracks. I also wanted a Snoopy alarm clock, rollerskates, and duffle bags. (That's the thing kids carried, instead of backpacks, lol) In my teen years, it changed. I wanted clothes, curling iron, tennis racket, jewelry, and jewelry boxes.

Are your kids easy to buy for? What kind of things did you want when you were a kid? Is there something you wish Santa would bring you now?
