With my family’s hectic schedule, we stayed home on Thanksgiving. I even skipped the Black Friday sales (first time!). What I was doing is working on edits, and eating. The food was never-ending, and I was so glad to see the almost empty refrigerator on Monday morning. Then I get online this morning, and I hear people talking about putting up their Christmas decorations. That scream you heard? That was me. I’m not ready!
Okay, maybe I’ve got a little start to the holidays. All four kids are getting Kindles for Christmas, and I’ve bought them already. Sometimes, I think our house is the testing ground for tech toys. It used to be remote control cars made them happy. Over the years, we’ve gone through gaming systems, computers, netbooks, cell phones, and I don’t know how to stop the expensive cycle. Just last night my oldest son had me watch a program on the new Smart car. Now that scares me! I’ve already told him that he better go knock on Donald Trump’s door if he wants to have one. It ain’t happening in this family.
I’m trying to be really good between now and the 25th of December. I figure the beginning of the year is shot. Ha! Why am I being sweeter than pie and cuter than Frosty? No words are necessary. I think a picture will show you…
Years ago, I heard a formula for buying gifts. I haven’t always stuck with it, but it’s great for buying gift for kids (keeps you from going overboard). It’s called the want, need, wear, read rule. To show you how it works, I’ve filled it out for me.
Want - A carry-all case for traveling
Need - Checkbook cover (mine ripped)
Wear - boots!
Read - Gift cert. to Amazon
What would you ask for if you followed this formula?
