We’re on the downhill slope of 2011. Put on your crash helmet, or as I call it…your brain bucket, and make the most of the rest of the year. Since 2012 is supposed to be the year the world ends, according to the Mayans, there’s a lot to do. I’ve got a bucket list to complete, books to get published, and that junk drawer in my kitchen has to be cleaned.
This week, I’m deep into revisions. Help! I asked Santa for a little personal editor to sit atop my desk. Someone to help me brainstorm, and tell me when I’m using words in Deb-lish, but I must’ve been naughty. I’m on my own here, so that banging you hear? It’s me, hitting my head on the desk. Oh, and by the way, I did not get the $568 cowgirl boots I wanted for Christmas either. Dangit!
What sorta plans do you have for New Year’s eve?
We’re going to stay home and watch movies. Hopefully something good is on. We’ve been on a movie kick this month. This is what we’ve seen…
Rise of the Planet of the Apes – Loved it! If you grew up watching the television show, you’ll notice a lot of similarities. I will say that at the beginning of the movie, I felt sad for the apes. Yet, by the end of the movie, they freaked me out. It was a great play on emotions.
Hangover, part 2 – It was good for a few laughs, but overall I didn’t think it was as good as the first movie.
Abduction – Predictable, but it was good. It reminded me of the Alex Rider books.
Mr. Popper’s Penguins – Jim Carrey is hit or miss with me. This one, I enjoyed. The penguins were adorable!
Pirates of the Caribbean (the last one, whatever it was called) – Didn’t hold my interest. I ended up writing during the movie. ;-)
30 minutes or Less – Meh. There were a couple funny parts, but if you’ve seen the previews you’ve pretty much seen the movie.
Cowboys and Aliens – I really loved this movie after the first 20 minutes. It stayed true to the morals, values, and cowboy laws of old westerns…except it had aliens. In fact, I watched this one twice!
